THE PARENT TEACHER ORGANISATION

Skylight Nursery and Primary School prides itself on fostering positive relationships with our students’ families. We understand that open communication and mutual understanding between home and school is essential to promote a child’s education. Therefore, we provide various channels for parents and teachers to communicate, which are clearly outlined in our policy:

• Phone and Email: Our staff is always available to answer your queries via phone and email.

• Class WhatsApp Groups: We have dedicated WhatsApp groups for each class, where parents and teachers can communicate and share updates.

• Student Diary: We use a student diary to communicate important information, such as homework assignments and upcoming events.

• Teachers’ ‘Open Door’ Policy: Our teachers have an open-door policy, meaning that parents are welcome to schedule a meeting with them at any time to discuss their child’s progress.

• Complaint Procedure: We have a complaint procedure in place to address any concerns or issues that may arise.

• Letters and Newsletters: We regularly send letters and newsletters to keep parents informed about school activities and events.

• Parent-Teacher Conferences Every Term: We hold parent-teacher conferences every term to discuss your child’s progress and set goals for the future.

• Managebac (Secondary Only): In our secondary school, we use Managebac to keep parents informed about their child’s progress, assignments, and schedules.

At Skylight Nursery and Primary School, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive community that supports our students, families, and staff. The Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) plays a vital role in achieving this goal, by providing opportunities for parents and staff to collaborate and support our students through involvement and creativity.
